The Best Way To Prepare The Classic Tapenade

Olive and caper-based Tapenade has been a very popular preparation since old Roman times, even before the French language came into existence as we know it. This highly versatile dip cum spread can be perfected right in your kitchen, and in just four steps. Here’s how:

Step 1: Rinse and drain 200gms olives, 3tbsp capers and 2 chopped anchovies.
Step 2: Blend them all in a food processor along with crushed garlic and thyme.
Step 3: Add the juice of half a lemon to the resulting paste.
Step 4: Season it with salt and pepper.

The Tapenade should look like a dark paste with a flavorful richness and it would be all ready to be served. Given its delectable uniqueness, it would be an ideal alternative to boring tomato ketchup, conventional dips and the usual bread spreads. What’s more? You can also use it for giving a whole new taste and texture to meats and vegetables. All you have to do is increase the quantity of ingredients to make a larger amount of the paste and then use it as stuffing the meats or veggies that can be easily served as dinner, a pre-dinner snack or even during a cocktail party.
